Pros Small firm with great energy, enthusiastic leadership and a refreshing start-up feel. Flag as Inappropriate Flag as Inappropriate. FInally the CTO came around the corner and introduced himself, paused a moment, and asked if I was there for the interview. I said yes, and he had me wait in the living room area.
I could hear and see the meeting in the next room, and people were laughing occasionally and it seemed like a nice friendly work environment. I heard someone mention if they should contnue later. The answer must have been no, because I sat there on the other side of the windowed door for about 15 minutes waiting for the meeting to end.
I was brought into the conference room by the CTO and another developer. They asked me about my Java experience. I acknowledged that I had mostly used VB. Net lately and had good programming skills, but I had Java experience in my past.
This was also obvious from my resume. Nevertheless, I was asked a lot of questions about current Java technologies and C, in which I sheepishly admitted I wasn't familiar with them. The developer was a personable guy, but the CTO sat there stone faced looking either completely disinterested, or annoyed, I am not quite sure which.
He asked 3 questions the whole time How would you implement a template in C, what is a priority queue, and something else. He didn't seem like the t ype of guy I'd want to work for. The interview lasted 10 minutes. I got the feeling they really didn't look at my resume thoroughly if at all , or they would not have called me in. The staff at MPower is extremely responsive to requests to changes in program reports, etc. Purchase orders made easily - I like the fact that I can create a "my list" during the course of the week; add products to it; delete products that we decide not be primary buys for the week; and then "click" it right into a PO with the company who handles the product.
Difficulty in finding a product that might be duplicated with the same Item. Once found, there is a little bit of difficulty in deleting it from inventory. The vendor is there is help assist in your setup and initial training. If you have problems or questions after the initial training, they are very willing to continue assistance until you have a better understanding.
So far there is nothing I have found in the program that I do not like. It is very adaptable and versatile to change, when certain circumstances or sales arise that are not in the initial setup. They have good tech support. I'm able to install the back office on multiple devices for remote access. I wish there were a faster way to input inventory e.
